Waiting

“Waiting” was a remix of the King Crimson song Waiting Man. I was listening to a lot of vaporwave at the time of when I did the remix, so it was almost my own version of a vaporwave song. I didn’t completely adhere to the style though, and used some glitchiness from the daw slowing the original song down to create new sounds. Along with slowing the tempo, I removed the guitar solo, and moved around certain instrumental sections to recontextualize the song.

Snorkeling Island

This piece was created to represent the first and only time I have and will ever go snorkeling. I was with my family on a cruise, and while at the private island I went snorkeling by myself. It was fun and cool, until a barracuda came up to me. I hightailed it back to the beach. The piece is broken into the two above water sections and an underwater section. The song represents that experience with the barracuda when the tension rises within the underwater section.

Kaddish

Featuring Samuel Meek on electric violin, this piece was originally written as a cello transcription of the Mourner’s Kadish. It evolved into a duet interpretation of this transcription combined with Oseh Shalom, and is dedicated to the victims and survivors of the Tree of Life synagogue shooting.

Serial Strings

This is an EastWest rendering of a string orchestra piece I wrote for my senior composition recital.

Radio Commercial Soundscape

I used open source and public domain sounds to create a outdoor summer soundscape.
